Akenside Institute offers Parish Priest Study Cohorts for continuing education of active Anglican priests. The areas of study are Martin Thornton’s parochial theology and model of priesthood, as well as his approach to spiritual guidance (direction).
These texts are closely read:
• Pastoral Theology: A Reorientation (Thornton)
• The Elements of the Spiritual Life (Harton)
• Spiritual Direction (Thornton)
Cohorts are taught by Father Dallman or a trained Akenside Institute Fellow. These meet weekly via Zoom with a typical group size of 5-7 participants.
